Thanksgiving
When looking for an appropriate picture to use in this post, all Pixabay had for Thanksgiving were pumpkins and turkeys. Is that what our country has come to? We don’t even know the real meaning of Thanksgiving, and what it should mean in our daily lives!
Throughout the Bible, God tells us to be thankful or to give thanks – He throws it in when you least expect it. For example, Philippians 4:6 says:
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication WITH THANKSGIVING, let your requests be made known unto God.”
The Psalmist tells us “Oh, give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good; because His mercy endures forever.”
If God’s mercy endures forever, and He forgives as many time as we need it, shouldn’t we live thankful lives? Be thankful, not just on Thanksgiving.
The Apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians 5:20, “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Beginning with this Thanksgiving, let’s make a concerted effort to find one thing to be thankful for every day.
Thanksgiving is Thanks Living. There is much to be thankful for this year. Let’s thank the One “from whom all blessings flow.”
